I believe good design is the result of good decisions.
As the child of a computer scientist and an artist, I balance my love for rigorous models and well engineered systems with a reverence for instinct, beauty and emotional power. I think good design emerges from the tension of the two. I also think good design is the result of good decisions.
Over the years, I've endeavored to make good decisions on a variety of B2B and B2C projects in agency, corporate, freelance and startup environments. As a client-facing lead on long term, enterprise-scale brand engagements, I partner closely with strategy, visual design, technology and business to advance user-centered thinking, build alignment, and create value through smart thinking, enduring partnerships and solutions built to scale – and last.
Recent projects I've led or collaborated on include: software and service products, marketing and communications websites, interactive design systems, organizational change blueprints, and physical experiences for the likes of IBM, Google, Slack, Samsung and Lowe's.
When I'm not compulsively saving scraps of inspiration to Pinterest, I can be found traveling, reading essays by misanthropic polemicists, or pretending not to read my horoscope.
